Service Announcement & Other Info

Tuesday, March 24th, 2020

Please Note:

Service Announcement Update:  The following protocol will be in effect until further notice.

Please note the following has been approved by Pastor Floyd Myers, Youth Pastor David Hann, and Church Council

We will have Sunday Morning Worship Service at 10:30 a.m. for those who wish to attend.  It will also be streamed on Facebook.

If you attend the service please note the following requirements:

Social Distancing (6 feet from others) – Sitting with only those from your household.

Touchless Service – Refrain from hand shaking, hugging, etc.

Proper Hand Sanitation – Use hand sanitizer provided or wash hands in the restroom.

Ushers posted at all entrances for arrival & departure.  They will be wearing face masks and gloves.

Face Masks – Gov. Wolf has mandated that everyone should wear a face mask when inside a building; however, this is not a law.

State Bishop Cooper strongly recommends that those attending indoor church services wear a face mask.

Please use your own judgement concerning face masks and be respectful to those around you.

Pastor has suggested that we wear face masks when engaged in conversation with another individual and when you are unable to maintain proper social distancing.

DO NOT ENTER THE CHURCH BUILDING IF YOU HAVE THE FOLLOWING SYMPTOMS:

FEVER

COUGH

SORE THROAT

HEADACHE

DIZZINESS

STUFFY OR RUNNY NOSE

BODY ACHES

DIARRHEA

We must take some precautions and use wisdom.  We continue to trust God as we take these precautions.

We hope to get back to some sort of normalcy soon.  We must take these actions and precautions to avoid any accountability & legal issues.

Thank you for your cooperation!

Pastor Floyd Myers, Youth Pastor David Hann, and the Council feel it is in the best interest of the congregation to hold only Morning Worship Services at this time.  The services will continue to be at the regularly scheduled time.  Live streaming will be available on Facebook and podcasts through the website.

We have implemented new safety measures throughout the church that you will notice when you enter the building.

Pastor Myers spoke with several healthcare professionals in our congregation and asked their professional advice and insight on reopening with a a full service schedule, classes, departmental meetings, and other activities.  They advised to reopen slowly and follow the recommendations set forth by the CDC and government.

The entire Youth Department also needs to hold a meeting to address how to proceed with Sunday School, Children’s Church, Wednesday Evening Classes, and all other Youth activities.  Several of our Youth Workers are still working on their background checks & clearances, as well as taking the required online training.  According to PA State Law these items must be on file before anyone can resume teaching or volunteering with the Youth once we reopen.

We would all like our lives and activities to go back to normal, but unfortunately that is not the world we live in today.

We will keep you informed of the reopening process.  Please pray for wisdom and guidance from the Lord as we seek Him to make the proper decisions for our church and congregation.

We love you all and want to do what is best for the congregation.  Thank you for your prayers, support, and consideration during the unprecedented time.

Communication:

Pastor Floyd will be posting sermons on our Facebook page and podcasts will be available on our website or by visiting sermon.net.

We will be utilizing the One Call Now phone notification system concerning announcements and other important info.

Please inform the office of any changes to your phone number so we can update the system accordingly.

Youth Workers Clearances:

Most of our volunteer workers need to update their clearances.  The office is working to get the required info to you as quickly as possible.  You will receive a mailing with instructions to help you through the renewal process.  This is a state law and we are required to ensure all of our workers have the mandated checks.

Please call the office if you have any questions.  Someone will return your call as soon as possible.

Thank you for your continued support and cooperation during this time.
